Fountain City Montessori was a brand creation project. The project started in September 2015 and the client is located in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Fountain City Montessori is a community of educators who are passionate about children and the Montessori learning method and philosophy.
Rowena Harper, the Managing Director of the pre-school, came to us with a vision which we turned into a brand using our tried and tested approach.
The branding package included a logo, branding manual and a style guide, business cards, signage, car wrap, folders, brochures, and website design and development.
We started with an initial meeting to understand the client’s business requirements, strategy, and business goals. Next we carried out market research to identify and understand her target audience. After this, the design process started.
We started by sketching the ideas on paper. The sketches were converted into computerised graphic mockups which were presented to Rowena at our second meeting.
During the meeting detailed explanations justifying the use of the design elements that embodied the mockups were provided. Following this Rowena selected her favourite mockups and, in some cases, her favourite parts from multiple mockups and we created a finalised version of the design.
Rowena loved working with us saying, “my logo is very distinctive and totally different from anything else in the early childhood education space. It represents my business name - it is a fountain, and is also a plant, symbolising growth. We see the child playing, happy and growing with outstretched arms. The child is also surrounded by nature in a warm and safe environment. The spring colours also resonate with me and also symbolise growth.”
